Not so soft

I bought this shirt because I have the same exact one that I purchased 3 years ago that now has a hole. I love the one I had because it was crazy soft and a super dark blue/grey color so I decided rather than wearing the one with a hole I should buy another. Immediately after it arrived I noticed that it is no where as soft as the original and the blue is now a baby blue color (bummer about the color but I was more concerned with the feel of the shirt). I immediately washed the shirt and while it made it a tad softer it is no where near the insanely soft shirt I had before. I bought another shirt at the same time and that one has the same problem. They're not cheap so it's a bit disappointing.
